Ingredients

To make a delicious vegetable burger, you will need:

  • 2 burger buns
  • 2 vegetable patties (store-bought or homemade)
  • 2 cheese slices (optional)
  • 1 medium onion, sliced into rings
  • 1 medium tomato, sliced
  • 4–5 lettuce leaves
  • 2 tablespoons mayonnaise
  • 2 tablespoons tomato ketchup
  • 1 teaspoon mustard sauce (optional)
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 2 teaspoons cooking oil
  • Salt and black pepper to taste

Ingredients

  • 2 boiled potatoes, mashed
  • ½ cup grated carrot
  • ¼ cup boiled green peas
  • ¼ cup breadcrumbs
  • 1 teaspoon ginger-garlic paste
  • ½ teaspoon red chili powder
  • ½ teaspoon garam masala
  • Salt to taste
  • 2 tablespoons cornflour
  • Oil for shallow frying

Method of Preparation

If you are making homemade patties, combine the mashed potatoes, grated carrot, boiled peas, breadcrumbs, ginger-garlic paste, red chili powder, garam masala, salt, and cornflour in a bowl. Mix everything well and shape the mixture into round patties. Heat oil in a pan and shallow-fry the patties on medium heat until they become golden brown and crispy on both sides. Remove them and place them on a paper towel to absorb excess oil.

Next, lightly butter the burger buns and toast them on a hot pan until they are golden and slightly crisp. This gives the burger extra flavor and prevents the buns from becoming soggy.

Spread mayonnaise on the bottom half of each bun. Add a lettuce leaf, followed by the vegetable patty. Place a cheese slice on top of the hot patty so it softens slightly. Add the onion rings and tomato slices. Sprinkle a little salt and black pepper over the vegetables. Spread ketchup and mustard sauce on the top half of the bun and gently place it over the filling.

Press the burger lightly so that all the ingredients stay in place. Your homemade vegetable burger

Serve the burger hot with crispy French fries, potato wedges, or a fresh salad. It also tastes great with tomato ketchup, chili sauce, or a refreshing cold drink. For a healthier meal, serve it with fresh fruit juice or buttermilk.
